Hay nets need to be hung high and securely to ensure that your horses hooves/legs do not get caught in them if them happen to lie down/roll/kick out/rear, etc.
Jammies can be good, but they can also be very bad. Jammies get caught on water buckets and stall gates. They shift all night and cover the eyes/nose of the horse or pony. Spending 10 minutes picking out shavings in the morning is better than a vet bill! We are VERY lucky to catch these things in a timely manner - no one wants their horse in this condition all night long!
Blankets needs to be properly snapped to ensure the horse/pony does not get caught on a water bucket, hay net, or stall gate. Blankets should ne latched with snap facing TOWARDS the horse, not facing away from the horse. Anything they could potential lean on is likely to get caught.
Blankets that do not open at the chest should stay home! Braiders take on a lot of liability, and removing a blanket to complete a mane is high risk - especially if we do not know the horse.
It is important to tape the openings of the water buckets and feed buckets to insure safety. Horses tend to get their clothing caught on them as well as their braids, eyelids, noses, etc. Avoid a vet bill by simply covering these areas with electrical tape!
