I, as well as a lot of other braiders, look forward to working with new clients, as well as loyal returning clients!
Just a few things to touch on for those who do not do big shows very often (or get braided) and for those just needing a reminder..
1. Manes need to be thinned out WITHOUT the use of scissors or razors!!!! If you don't know how, by all means, let your braider do it!
2. I am not like a lot of braiders. I do not charge a brush out fee for knotty, matted tails. I expect them to be nicely combed and clean. You are at a big show, after all. I do not charge a "leave in" fee. If you wish to leave your braids in, fine. I need to know in ADVANCE if you are leaving in or getting rebraided for the second day. Braiders have a funky day life and a strict night time schedule and we have to stick to it.
3. Horses and ponies need to be squeaky clean (obviously) but PLEASE clean manes and tails a couple of days before showing unless you are able to get all soap out. NO CONDITIONER, SHOWSHEEN, OILS, ECT!!! This RUINS our hands for the evening and produces terrible, loose braids.
4. Payment is due at the time of service. I accept cash, checks, venmo, and PayPal. Payment must be labeled with horse/pony name and stall #. No payment, no braids! My envelope will be left by each stall with payment due date labeled at the top.
5. Slinkys/Jammies. I love some, I hate some. My personal opinion is that they make messy braids overnight, as they rub back and forth every time the horse/pony moves. If your horse/pony does not rub, I suggest leaving them naked. If the jammies fit properly, they should be fine, but too big and too small will effect the cleanliness of the braids the following morning as well as the safety of the horse.
6. Tail wraps must be left out with fake tails outside of stall unless otherwise discussed with your braider. We do not have time to rummage through dozens of trunks looking for an ACE bandage. Polos, standing bandages, tail wraps, and ace bandages are acceptable. Tails will not be wrapped with self-adhesive wraps or vet-wrap. These will cut off circulation to the tail.
7. If your horse/pony is "quirky" then please let me know in ADVANCE. I do not plan to get bitten, kicked, trampled, or pummeled. Letting me know about silly ponies keeps both me and pony safe!!

Happy showing!
