Staying organized is key to having a smooth and stress free week (or weeks) at a horse show.
LABELING
When you have people working for you or with you, the more organized you are, the more efficient the day/night is. Labeling is important for keeping horses and equipment in order. Stalls need to be neatly labeled. If fake tails are being used, they need to be neatly hanging on the stall of the horse that receives it. If you wish to keep it in a safer place, such as your tack room, tails need to be neatly labeled. No one likes not knowing which horse is which in the middle of the night. Labeling keeps everyone on the same page and eliminates mistakes. If stalls are not labeled at your home farm, and you have a professional coming (farrier, chiropractor/body clipper, etc), it is important to make temporary labels to ensure the professional is working on the correct horse/pony.
Blankets should also have name tags. This is very important to barns with many horses - especially full service farms, where someone else is doing all of the blanket changing. Knowing which blanket belongs to which horse keeps everything clean, tidy, and super organized.
